Edges the Musical is now running from 3rd to 19th April 2013. Brought to you by Sightlines Productions , and directed by young emerging theatre director, Derrick Chew, Edges the Musical is an exciting new contemporary musical about four burgeoning young adults at the edge of their lives, confronting emotions, escaping expectations, and deciphering complicated relationships.
While reading the press release from Edges, I raise both hands (and maybe my pair of legs) to agree that Edges gets the audiences, of all ages reflecting on their younger years -
Where mistakes define who you became, love seemed to last forever, and reality hadn't hit yet.

Written by American Duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, Edges has been performed over 100 times across North America, Asia, Australia, Europe and Africa. In line with Derrick's vision of nurturing young actors, Edges' cast includes LASELLE's Musical Theatre graduates, Mina Kaye, Linden Furnell, and Kristy Griffin. Also in this cast is Benjamin Kheng, who's also one quarter of local indie band, The Sam Willows and voted as one of the faces to watch in 2013 by ST Life! .

Benjamin Kheng brings out the voices of many teenagers nowadays who seek to pursue their dreams out of this little red dot Singapore.
Was there to catch the production on Friday night. Enjoyed the show, nodding my head and clapping my hands towards the end of the musical. The lyrics was so close to our hearts, and the powerful vocal of the cast could lead the audiences through a roller coaster ride of emotions.

The cast had so much chemistry together, Linden Furnell and Kristy Griffin especially displayed this in the scene above, their dance movement was well coordinated! Their facial expressions, was priceless.

Meet the producer for Edges the Musical, Sylvia Tan. A graduate from the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Programme in LASALLE College of the Arts, she's one of the professional trio who set up Sightlines Productions, together with Derrick Chew and Engie Ho. I've known her since my university days, working part time in National Museum of Singapore. Back then, she was already like a busy bee, who's very involved in the Singapore Arts Scene. Till date, she has not only excelled in her producing career, she has also work on high profile national and international events such as F1 Singtel Singapore Grand Prix , APEC World Conference, and managed numerous concerts such as 2011 Girls Generation World Tour, Jason Mraz Love is a Four Letter Word Tour (Singapore), just to name a few.
