From left to right: Mr. Jeffrey Godsick - President of Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products, Y Bhg Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay -Chairman and Chief Executive of Genting Malaysia, YAB Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak - Prime Minister of Malaysia, YA Bhg Tun Mohammed Hanif Omar - Deputy Chairman of Genting Malaysia, Y Bhg Dato' Sri Lee Choong Yan - President and Chief Operating Officer of Genting Malaysia.

Fox names its first theme park in the world, Twentieth Century Fox World, which will feature more than 25 rides and attractions, on the 25-acre of land. Malaysia Resorts World Genting will soon welcome attractions from movies such as Ice Age, Rio, Night at the Museum and Alien vs Predator, just to name a few. 20th Century Fox World Theme Park is part of the RM5 Billion Genting Integrated Tourism Plan, launched last week.

The expansion plan will take place in phases, and will stretch as long as 10 years. Phase 1 developments plans have already started on the Resort World Genting grounds, which includes a new 3-star hotel adjacent to the current First World Hotel, with 1,300 rooms, and the upgrading and refurbishment of the existing hotels, namely Genting Grand, Maxims, Resort Hotel, Theme Park Hotel and First World Hotels.

Other developments also include a 10,000 seating capacity show arena, a new cable car station with a holding capacity of 100 gondolas, the new Genting Premium Shopping Oulets, the 2nd in the country after Johor branch.

And last but not least, one of the major projects is none other than the development of the estimated RM1 billion Twentieth Century Fox World.

Lee Ang and Ben Stiller Congratulates Malaysia and 20th Century Fox on the launch of the theme park.

20th Century Fox breaks its ground in Malaysia, and it's the first in the world. Plans for the development was already formalized in June this year, between Genting and Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products. Faced with strong competition in Asia such as Singapore Universal Studios Theme Park and Tokyo Disney Land, Mr. Jeffery Godsick, President of Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products expressed his confidence on the theme park,

"The opening of the first Twentieth Century Fox World theme park at Resorts World Genting takes our rich history of storytelling to a whole new level and will provide an exceptional entertainment experience."

"People from around the world will gather here in Malaysia to become part of the story and to experience the magic and adventure of their favourite Fox properties," added Godsick.

When asked why did the company lands it's foot in Malaysia, but not other places, Mr. Greg Lombardo, vice president of location based entertainment for Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products added,

"Genting as a developer of the world's top resort destinations is a natural and valued partner for Twentieth Century Fox... the creation of a world-class entertainment destination in a vital market like Asia is a landmark step in Fox's global theme park strategy, extending our brand and engaging audiences in new and exciting ways."

Genting Malaysia Chairman and Chief Executive Tan Sri Lim also added,

" With its mix of rides, attractions and movie-fantasy appeal, Twentieth Century Fox World will definitely pave the way for the continued growth of Resorts World Genting with next level family entertainment experience which will attract tourism dollars to Malaysia. "

Tan Sri Lim expressed confidently that with the Genting Integrated Tourism Plans developments and initiatives, this will not only help to boost Malaysia's tourism arrivals, but also help to create about 3.3million new jobs by 2020.

Malaysia Prime Minister YAB Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Razak also believes that the Genting Integrated Tourism Plan will bring the tourism and integrated resort industry in Malaysia to greater heights, and further enhance its position to a well known destination of choice not only in Malaysia, but also South East Asia.

The Twentieth Century Fox World will replace the outdoor theme park, which has ceased operations since September this year. Took a picture of the current outdoor theme park when I was in Genting last week. Phase 1 developments has already started! Well, but fred not! Visitors can still visit not only the indoor theme park, but also enjoy the Sky Venture, Snow World, 4D Theatre, Indoor Coaster Ride, just to name a few, which continues to bring about family entertainment!
